Comfy Knitting

Role: Artist

Noticing the monotonous, energy-sapping effects of prolonged online classes, two other classmates and I designed a type-based video game Comfort Knitting for a Carnegie Mellon Game Creation Student-Taught Course. We were originally inspired by the calming aesthetics and colors of Lo-Fi music and art, which showcased pink colors, soft color palettes, and warm lighting. Created as an auditory and visionary placate, the character “knits” tiles with the keyboard to create various images.

With a soothing backtrack, sound effects, and pastel graphics, the game provides mindless stimulation without deterring one’s attention from a conversation or class. Showcase critics complimented the efficient UI design, subtleties in audio, and calming aesthetic.
